By taking one look at my Instagram account, you will see my happy place is definitely my kitchen. (As I am typing this, there is a cake in my oven.) For this weeks Friday Favorites I wanted to share with you my 6 must have kitchen tools.
This little bench scraper is super handy. When I make pretzel bites, I use it to cut the dough into pieces. It is also fabulous to get all the little bits of dough and flour off of your counter after kneading your bread dough.
When making dinner, I like to get everything prepped before I actually start cooking. I pull out all the ingredients I need. Chop all of the vegetables. And measure all the spices into one of these little measuring cups. Makes it so much easier to just toss them all in together. They are so cute, I leave them out on my counter all the time, and use them every time I cook.
I have two sets of these measuring spoons and just thought to myself the other day that I should purchase a third. Yep. I cook/bake that much. These are really great because the measurement is etched into the spoon vs a colorful little print. I have purchased the colorful printed ones in the past and they just don’t hold up in the dishwasher. Plus, they are only $2.99!
These OXO mixing bowls are fabulous! I have two sets and use them all the time! My first set was white, but I really like the colorful set that includes the smaller bowl. Sometimes you just don’t need a ginormous mixing bowl, so the small bowl is great. The rubber on the bottom keeps the bowl in place while you stir. And they wash up great in the dishwasher.
This little measuring cup is super handy for measuring things like peanut butter or molasses. With traditional measuring cups a lot of the ingredient gets stuck in the cup so you have to use a spatula to get it all out. With this handy measuring cup you simply push all the ingredient out and get every last drop! It comes in a one cup size and a two cup size. And of course I have both.
I seriously could not cook without these awesome cutting boards from IKEA. They are HUGE and wash up super well in my dishwasher. I use them to cut vegetables on but also to lay out ingredients. When I make my Vegan Pretzel Dogs, I lay out my rolled dogs before their bath. (Yep. Bath.) When I make my pot pie, I like lay out my biscuits and then pop them in the freezer to make sure the ‘butter’ is super cold before baking. Seriously. Check them out next time you go to IKEA. Buy two sets. They are only $2.
